Deck Renewal Project

Deck Renewal Project (Oakville)

A Homeowner with a mildew issue on his rear
deck asked us to  troubleshoot and
get the deck cleaned and recoated with a new
look. We opted to use an oxalic acid deck cleaner
with a rotary head cleaner on all the seating areas
and then used BioWash on the horizontal boards
to lift off the dead slurry fiber layer and open up
the grain to accept a new deck finish. This is
absolutely essential - powerwash, sand with 80 grit
and allow the deck to breathe overnight before
applying a new finish.

We then applied one single coat of Olympic's
Premium Semi-Transparent Deck Finish for a
final look. This product will provide about 2 years
protection (2 seasons) and will wear down appropriately
in time for the next coating application.
